Roy Rogers truly was "King of the Cowboys."
He appeared in hundreds of films and television shows, made many records, and with his wife Dale, raised a family of nine children.
Children were special to Roy, and one of the hardest and most-rewarding aspects of his career was being able to visit sick children in hospitals. When he was a child himself, Roy wanted to be a doctor in order to help sick people—and animals. As "King of the Cowboys," Roy healed more hearts than he ever could have as a doctor.
