Regular Shows:

Frontier Doctor (Sept. 1958 - Jun. 1959, 39 episodes)

Rex Allen went from starring in children-oriented Westerns on the big screen, to starring in adult-oriented Westerns on the small screen.
Rex's character was Dr. Bill Baxter, who administered medical relief (and candy jaw breakers -- "the best thing for expectant fathers") to those living on the frontier in the first decade of the 20th century.  Doc Baxter could do his fair share of detective work, too, when a medical case turned into a criminal case -- which was just nearly every week.

* Facts concerning Allen's actual birthdate and number of marriages are hazy.  Sometimes his birthday is listed as 1924.  Wives vary in number from three to five.  In Rex's autobiography, he uses the 1920 birthdate, and acknowledges only two wives -- Bonnie and Jean (the book was published in 1989, before he married Virginia Hudson).

** Several of these programs are also listed as feauture-length films.
