Bob Woodward's Birthday

Bob Woodward
March 5, 1909 - February 7, 1972

Undoubtedly one of the best and busiest of the silver screen's stuntmen, Bob Woodward was born on this day in 1909. His career spanned over thirty years, and you can spot him in the crowd or driving a stagecoach in dozens of Westerns. Often you don't even see his face—he doubled for the best of 'em. He is usually noticeable even in these roles because of his distinct, stooped posture.

He appeared 45 of the 81 episodes of Annie Oakley (1954 - 1957), almost as many episodes of The Gene Autry Show (1950 - 1955), and in many episodes of Buffalo Bill Jr. (1955 - 1956). He also worked on shows such as The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp (1955 - 1961), The Lone Ranger (1949 - 1957), an Death Valley Days (1952 - 1970).
